marimo is soothing and mysterious, it fits perfectly on the bedside table or home desk

This is an extremely calming plant. Despite its common name-"Moss Ball"-it is actually composed of velvet balls of filamentous algae. I like to watch the furry globe gently swinging in the water.

They require low to medium indirect light and protection from direct sunlight.

On a bright home desk or bedside table, you will appreciate its soothing nature in two places.

Put it in an open glass bowl or jar filled with water. Change the water every two weeks-tap water is good. If the room temperature exceeds 25 degrees Celsius in summer, move the container to a cool place near the refrigerator or air conditioner until the temperature drops.

The Japanese call this plant chlorella and regard it as a national treasure: it has been a protected species there since 1920. The round shape of the balls is formed and maintained by the gentle wave action that occasionally rotates them. In addition, they have a mysterious ability to float during the day and sink at night. They can grow up to 30 cm in diameter, and if properly cared for, they can survive for decades, making them life-long pets.
